The beautiful mandarin fish belongs to the family of dragonets. The fish inhabit sheltered reefs at a depth of 1-20 meters. They are very shy and comes out of their hiding place in twilight.
The loveplay of the mandarin fish is particularly worth seeing. The couple leaves „embraced“ the corals and disappear quickly back in the protection of corals.
